The member shall have each client sign an agreement of payment for service before proceeding to counsel.

The member shall complete a case history form on each client before proceeding to counsel.

The member shall keep all conversations with the client in complete confidence.

The member shall maintain healthy boundaries between the client and the counselor at all times.

The member shall not continue counseling beyond a reasonable period.

The member shall not engage in an after-hours social life with the client.

The member must maintain an up to date police report on themselves and may be presented to the client if requested. The member must maintain Insurance coverage on their practice to protect the public at all times.

he member shall carry on counseling in the context of the counseling office only, and the member must reframe from physical contact with the client at all times.

Every member must renew their membership each year to remain a member in good standing

Every member must complete (with proof) a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education per year to maintain membership.

Every member shall submit themselves to the authority of the college and its regulations.

If demanded by the College the member must surrender their certificate and membership card (without refund) to the executive of the College.

In the event of a complaint being filed against a member. The member must respond and reply to questions asked by the Complaints Committee.

In the event a member is requested to appear before the Discipline Committee of the College, the member must appear on the date agreed upon.

In the event that the Executive and or the Discipline Committee should render a finding of guilty, the member must comply with the penalty prescribed by the College.

Members must remain within the Fee Schedule set out by the College. The Fee Schedule may be revised from time to time by the College.

All information submitted to the College by a member or prospective member must be complete and accurate. Disinformation will result in the candidate being disqualified as a member.

A member’s office must be open to inspection by an authorized member of the Executive of the College if and when required.

Every member shall maintain complete “hard copy” records on each and every client.

Records must include: date of appointment, time of appointment, length of appointment, fee charged for each appointment, along with complete written notes on the client’s case and the counsellors recommendation(s).

All records must remain as part of the counsellors archives for a period of time indefinite.
11
No one shall hold themselves out as a member of the College without an up to date membership card.
